Celebrate the Winter Holidays With These Deliciously Festive Tequila Cocktails

The time has come for friends and family to gather and celebrate the winter holidays. If you’re hosting a big holiday gathering, you’ll need to create the perfect cocktails to go with your winter party theme.

There are plenty of spirits options out there to choose but being located in New Mexico, tequila is always a favorite choice. We’ve collected a list of some of our favorite holiday drinks that you can create using some of the high-quality ingredients and top-shelf tequila we have available now at Zia Liquors. 

Cafe Ranchero

This warm drink brings together a delicious mix of hazelnut, honey, and cinnamon flavors with a spiced finish. It’s the perfect after-dinner drink on a cold, wintry evening.

  • 1 oz. 1921 Tequila Cream
  • 3 oz. Freshly brewed coffee
  • 2 dashes of powdered cinnamon and clove

Spiked Pumpkin Spice Latte

It’s winter time but that doesn’t mean you have to put down your favorite pumpkin drink. In fact, we have a recipe for an adult version of your coffee shop favorite- the Pumpkin Spiced Latte.

  • 2 oz. Casa Del Sol Reposado or Blanco
  • 1 oz. Premium Espresso
  • 3/4 oz. Pumpkin Spice Syrup
  • 1/2 oz. Coconut Milk or Oat Milk
  • Cinnamon garnish

Pour all the ingredients into a shaker over ice and shake well. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with fresh cinnamon and a cinnamon stick. View this recipe on the FFT Website.

Poinsettia Smash

This icy drink has a festive, holiday flavor with notes of cinnamon and cranberries, and is a simple drink to make.

  • 2 oz. Patron Silver
  • 1/2 oz. Sherry
  • 5 fresh cranberries (or .5 oz. Cranberry jelly)
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup (take out if using cranberry jelly)
  • 1/2 oz. Lemon juice
  • 1 cinnamon stick for garnish

’Tis The Spritzer

This fruity, sparkling cocktail is the perfect drink for your New Year’s Eve bash.

Add all the ingredients into a shaker and fill it with ice. Shake and then strain the ingredients into a glass. Top with champagne and garnish with a few cranberries and a sprig of rosemary. See more tequila recipes at the Tres Agaves Website

Teremana Hot Chocolate

A spiked version of this kid classic, perfect for a cold, wintry day.

  • 1 1/2 oz. Teremana Blanco Tequila
  • 1/2 oz. Agave Nectar
  • 4 oz. Brewed Hot Chocolate
  • Pinch salt/cinnamon/cayenne mixture (equal parts)

Pretty Woman

Some families will hang a pomegranate above the door of a house on Christmas Day, as a symbol of Christmas but it’s also a great ingredient for holiday cocktails.

  • 4 oz. La Adelita Tequila Black
  • 2 oz. Of 50/50 lemon-lime juice
  • 4 oz. Pomegranate juice
  • 1 1/2 oz. Agave nectar
  • Rosemary and pomegranate seeds for garnish

Juice 1/2 a lemon and 1/2 a lime into a glass with ice. Combine the other ingredients into a shaker and mix well, then strain into the glass with the lemon-lime mixture. Garnish with a fresh rosemary sprig and pomegranate seeds. Learn more tequila recipes at the La Adelita tequila Website
