Shenk’s Homestead 2023 Sour Mash Whiskey is a Kentucky Sour Mash Whiskey made with a substantial amount of rye. We’re happy to report that this year’s Shenk’s release will feature a higher percentage of whiskey aged in Chinquapin oak than in previous years, as well as longer aging times. The wood has been naturally air dried, seasoned for at least 3 years, and toasted and charred on the inside. These measures allow the oak’s unique aroma and flavor profiles to fully express themselves in each batch of Shenk’s Homestead 2023 Sour Mash Whiskey.
NOSE: Toasty with molasses and spice.
PALATE: A Whiskey to savor complimented by highlights of smooth spice, dried fruit, and honey.
FINISH: Smooth with delicate maturity.
